This page will
contain many of the pictures and words about my trains and more about some of my
friends
and their models both aircraft and trains
This is my
favorite engine . It is a 2-8-8-2
compound mallet. This engine is
totally
awesome when you see it pulling 50 to 75 cars
on an N
scale layout up a 2.5 degree incline
and not having to struggle as it
moves along.
To the right is one
of my 2-8-2 Mikados. The engine
above was made by mating 2 of these
Mikados together
making one larger engine with massive power and
pulling capability. The Mikados were the most used
engines on the
railroads. For their size they were a
powerhouse and were used to pull
freight and
passenger consists.
This is a picture of
part of the modular
layout of the club I belonged to in
Albuquerque, NM several years ago. The
club is still going and
enjoys an exciting
and very fulfilling camaraderie and feeling
of accomplishment. The hobby of model
railroading is a very
relaxing and
enjoyable.

Another picture of
the N scale modular
layout in Albuquerque. Notice the
attention to detail in the weathering of
the buildings and the
yard it is a real
crowd pleaser. The train coming
around on
the left side is one of my
mikados with a freight consist in tow .
This is the last
picture
of the modular layout
of the club that I was a
member of. The train
in the picture was also
one of my
mikados
justifying its existence
by hauling the
freight.
This is another one
of my engines that
I have to repaint and letter. I personally
model the Santa Fe. Denver & Rio
Grande and Southern Pacific
railroads.
I am originally from The Texas-New
Mexico regions
and those were the
most common that I saw and I know
more
about them than I do the others.
Their history is very rich and
colorful.
This is one of my
favorite shots of my
equipment running it very nicely
simulates the look of a train coming
into the morning light after
a long
overnight haul.
To the left is a
4-8-4 Northern one
most popular but not the most prolific
of
the Santa Fe freight and passenger
longhaul engines. This engine was
used in the 1940's to haul the
California Limited and later
used to
haul freight and in it's later years
relagated
to just helping the then new
Diesel electrics pulling the fast
passenger train like the Super Chief
and others in the same type
of
passenger service.
